Policies

 Reservations

A credit card is required to secure a reservation. Your card will not be charged until you arrive or if you cancel without notice, as outlined below. Children 13 and older are welcome. We care about the health of all our guests, and offer a completely smoke-free environment.

Rates are per room, double occupancy. No additional person(s) permitted in rooms. Please note that all of our guest rooms are on the second floor.

 

Cancellations

Because of our intimate size, cancellations significantly impact our business. If you need to cancel or shorten your stay, we require notification 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival to ensure a full refund. For cancellations within 48 hours of arrival, we will make every effort to re-book your room and refund the full amount of your deposit. If we are unable to re-book, the room charges will remain. In the event of an early departure, room charges will apply for the entire reservation period unless we are able to re-book, which is our preference.

During high demand periods such as holidays and special events (Weddings, Belhaven festivals and parades, etc.) cancellations must be made no less than 30 days prior to your arrival. If we can re-book your room(s), you will receive a refund.

Full refunds will be provided in the unlikely event of a mandatory evacuation.

 

Payments

We accept cash, traveler’s checks and major credit cards including VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

 

Check-In and Check-Out

Check in is between 3p.m. and 6p.m., unless otherwise pre-arranged. Check out is 11 a.m.

 

Pet Pawlicies

DUCK BLIND PET PAWLICY
Please review and sign this agreement before arrival.

All of us at Between Water & Main love furry friends. We know they are part of your family and understand the desire to have them with you when you travel. To keep our guests and your loved one safe and healthy, below are our policies:

  • An additional non-refundable pet cleaning fee of $25 per pet will be added to the room rate.
  • We accept well behaved cats or dogs only. Maximum of 2 pets. Regretfully, we will not be able to accommodate the following restricted breeds: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, German Shepard, Boxer, Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Doberman Pinscher, Chow Chow, Presa Carnario, or Dalmatian
  • Size is not specifically limited, but the pet parent must be able to maintain control over their pet(s) at all times.
  • Pets must be restrained (leashed or in a carrier) when outside the cottage. No pets will be allowed in the main house.
  • Pets must be well groomed.
  • Pets must be spayed or neutered.
  • Pets must be current on all required vaccinations, flea and de-wormer treatments.
  • Pet parents must immediately remove and appropriately dispose of any pet waste. All feces and litter must be placed in a plastic bag and securely tied before placing in the outdoor garbage cans.  Cat litter may not be disposed of in the toilet.
  • Between Water & Main will provide substitute bedding to be used should your pet be accustomed to getting onto beds. If so, please ensure that your pet lays on appropriate areas that are covered by substitute bedding or place pet bedding on floor for your pet.
  • Pets are NOT ALLOWED to be bathed in the guest room, bathtubs, showers, or sinks. Please do not use our towels or linens to clean off or dry your pets or let your pet on our beds or furniture with wet or muddy feet.  The Duck Blind comes with Pet towels for clean ups.
  • Pet parents must restrain and prevent pets from gnawing, chewing, scratching or otherwise defacing the cottage or furnishings, including torn or ripped screens. Pet parents are liable for any damage caused by pets.  If a flea infestation occurs, the pet parent will be charged for remediation. A $250 deposit will be taken at the time of reservation and refunded upon inspection upon departure.
  • If a pet parent does not declare pets when registering or upon arrival or does not adhere to the policy of only 2 pets per room, a nonrefundable $100 fee will be imposed and the nonrefundable $25 pet fee per pet will be added to your bill.

 

Between Water & Main reserves the right to charge additional fees for broken or damaged items in your room as well as excessive cleaning as a result of your pet’s stay. Charges may be applied to the credit card on file up to 30 days after checkout.
